Ask a Dietitian
"Diana, just a quick heads up to let you know we are still using your cookbook and the guys will often be heard saying what would Diana say about this or that....really good feed back... I made your potato salad and the oriental coleslaw on Sat. for a family luncheon and had rave reviews so thanks again."

New Trends In Grocery Shopping
As seen on BCTV August 17/99
The nutrition segment was filmed today at Urban Fare, a brand new grocery shopping experience in Vancouver’s Yaletown district. The store is operated by the Overwaitea food chain and has a market-style feel. Together with the store, Urban Fare has a restaurant and you can even log on to www.urbanfare.com where you can order your groceries for delivery! This is a trend we will likely see more of in the new millenium.
Regardless of where you’re grocery shopping, keep the following tips in mind:
1) Try to plan menus, or at least some meal ideas for the week in advance.
2) Make a shopping list based on these ideas. Shopping with a list helps to prevent impulse shopping.
3) Avoid shopping on an empty stomach. Everything looks tempting if you are hungry.
4) Try to shop weekly versus daily, unless you have a lot of free time.
5) Consider buying generic or store brands where possible as a money saver.
6) Shop alone if shopping with your spouse, kids or others is a stress or problem.
7) Use coupons to save money.
8) And, as always, read labels to stay aware of what you’re eating!
