"Diana, just a quick heads up to let you know we are still using your cookbook and the guys will often be heard saying what would Diana say about this or that....really good feed back... I made your potato salad and the oriental coleslaw on Sat. for a family luncheon and had rave reviews so thanks again."

LOW FAT SNACKS WITHOUT TRANS FATS

There are lots of healthy foods on the market for snacking these days.  Now you can find even healthier versions of your old favorites, such as low fat microwave popcorn.  Now Orville Redenbacher’s Smart Pop! Microwave popping corn is trans fat free.  You will find the same is happening to some crackers, cookies and other baked goods.  Read your labels and compare.  Look for foods that are low in fat and in particular Trans fats.  Trans fats are known to increase cholesterol levels five times more than saturated fats.

Remember, snack foods don’t always need to come in a package.  Eating fresh unprocessed foods like an orange, kiwi or ½ grapefruit tops the list for healthy benefits.  Try snow peas and cherry tomatoes instead of the old standby carrots and celery.   Have a yogurt, ½ sandwich, homemade pumpkin muffin or a handful of trail mix to keep you going through the afternoon.
