Ask a Dietitian
"Diana, just a quick heads up to let you know we are still using your cookbook and the guys will often be heard saying what would Diana say about this or that....really good feed back... I made your potato salad and the oriental coleslaw on Sat. for a family luncheon and had rave reviews so thanks again."

Refresh Your Dinner Menu
As winter approaches and some of our fresh produce disappears we tend to get in a rut with our dinner ideas. If you are in need for new and interesting meal ideas there are several resources available to you. One is right in your grocery store. Often stores with have in-store magazines with recipes using ingredients that are on special that week. Save-On Foods has the Appeal magazine. Now you can also find recipe cards throughout the grocery store. As you roam the isles in search if new ideas watch for these colourful cards and start your own collection. Each week find a new recipe sheet in front of the featured food such as salmon, chicken, blueberries or apples. On the back of each sheet you will find some health tips too. Collect and store these sheets in the custom binder, that already contains 9 recipes, available at the customer service desk for $6.88 or 1500 Save-On-More points.
You can also find the recipe on-line at www.saveonfoods.com
The brightlife Healthy Recipe Program is just one more part of Save-On-Foods total well-being initiative called “brightlife” – which is all about bringing well-being to life and encompasses everything Save-On-Foods has in store to promote better health for their customers. This includes such things as the Shop Smart Tours, Pharmacy Clinic events where we test cholesterol, bone density, blood sugar, etc; healthy products, organic and natural choices, health tips in their store flyer and in-store radio, interactive web site with access to their on-line nutritionist and pharmacist, brightlfie Health Program where you can subscribe to receive free health newsletters, their recycling centres (called Changes Recycling Centres) and MUCH more!
Another source of recipes is www.chatelaine.com where you can type in an ingredient you have in your home and they will provide you with several recipes using that ingredient.
Tip: Choose one new recipe per week, invite family to choose a new recipe too and encourage them to cook one night each week.
